5 This is a traditional Mongolian tent, called a Ger (pronounced 'ghair'). There are lots surrounding the capital city Ulan-Bataar, and quite a few inside the city, like this one.
6 This is a huge monastery in Ulan Bataar we visited. Inside there is an absolutely massive statue of Buddha.
7 This is a footpath they were repairing in downtown Ulan-Bataar. They just jack-hammered it up, then went home for the day.
Health and Safety initiatives haven't quite taken off in Mongolia.
8 Our host took us on a day trip into the countryside. While driving around we saw this big outcrop of rocks and I decided to climb them. This is the view from the top. You can see our host's white Lada car, and if you look carefully you can see Amanda near the centre of the photo.
